Hey hustlers, it's Precious, six months ago I thought automation was only for people who could code. I was completely wrong.
For the longest time, I believed that to automate anything meaningful on my computer, I had to learn proper coding. I tried learning Python a few times but always gave up halfway because the tutorials were too technical and I didn’t have that kind of time.
But something big changed for me recently.
I discovered Claude Code (the new feature from Anthropic), and it’s currently free. This tool runs directly on my laptop, reads my files, writes its own scripts, executes them, sees errors, fixes them by itself, and continues until the job is 100% complete.
I don’t write any code. I just speak to it in normal English like I’m talking to a very smart assistant.
This single tool has saved me several hours every single week.
I’m not a programmer. I’m just a regular salary earner here in Port Harcourt running small side hustles, writing blog posts for this website, managing my expenses, organizing downloads, and trying to grow my income. Claude Code has become like my personal junior developer who works quietly in the background.
Here are the exact ways I’ve been using it in real life:
1. Organizing My Extremely Messy Downloads Folder
I used to have over 700 random files scattered everywhere, PDFs, images, receipts, screenshots, etc.
I simply told Claude Code:
“Sort everything in my Downloads folder. Group them properly by type, rename files with clear names, and create well-organized folders.”
It finished everything in under 12 minutes. Now my folder is clean and makes sense.
2. Automatic Telegram Message Forwarding
I have two Telegram accounts, one for business inquiries and one personal.
I asked Claude Code to create a script that automatically forwards specific keywords or messages from one account to another. It installed the necessary libraries, wrote the full script, ran it, and even fixed connection errors by itself.
3. Project Auditing
Whenever I’m working on a big folder (for example, all files for a new side hustle idea), I tell it:
“Go through every file in this folder and give me a detailed report of what’s missing, what needs improvement, and suggestions.”
It reads hundreds of files and gives me a clean, professional summary.
4. Handling CSV Files and Creating Reports
I regularly get sales data or expense records in CSV format.
Instead of struggling with Excel, I drop the file and say:
“Analyze this CSV and create a full monthly report with summary, charts description, and key insights.”
It writes the code, runs it, and delivers a proper report.
5. Daily Automatic Digests
I now have a script that runs every morning, collects important information from different folders, and sends me a clean morning summary. Claude even helped me schedule it to run automatically.
6. Bulk File Editing
Need to rename, reformat, or update 50+ files at once? I just describe what I want once and it handles everything.
7. Writing Proper Commit Messages & Changelogs
For any project I’m working on, it reads all the changes and writes professional commit messages and updates my changelog automatically.
The Smart Trick I Use Every Time
I created a file called CLAUDE.md in my important project folders. Inside it, I write permanent instructions like:
Always use simple and clear names
Always organize files this way…
Always double-check before finishing
Now, every time I run Claude Code in that folder, it already knows exactly how I like things done. I don’t need to repeat instructions.
My Honest Reflection
This tool is making me feel more productive and more in control of my work. The mental energy I used to waste on repetitive tasks is now freed up for thinking about new side hustle ideas, writing better content for you guys, and actually growing this blog.
I still believe human creativity and decision-making are very important. But for execution and automation, Claude Code is helping me move 5x faster.
If you’re a non-tech person like me who has lots of ideas but struggles with the boring execution part, I strongly recommend you try Claude Code.
What about you?
