How Using AI Daily Has Actually Made Me More Creative and Productive in 2026

Hey hustlers, it's Precious. This one is a bit different from my usual budgeting and side hustle posts, but I’ve been thinking about it a lot lately and I decided to share it.

I’m a tech guy at heart. I love gadgets, I love tools that make life easier, and I’m always looking for smart ways to save time and money. For the past year or so, I’ve been spending serious hours with AI, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, whatever I can get my hands on. At first I was just using it to write posts, research side hustles, or draft emails.

But something strange started happening.

The more time I spend with AI, the more human I actually feel.

Let me explain what I mean, no hype, just real talk from a regular guy in Port Harcourt trying to hustle smart.

You know how our life is here. Salary lands, NEPA takes light, traffic is mad, fuel is expensive, and you still have to reply emails, track expenses, write reports, or plan your next small hustle. A lot of our days are filled with low-value noise, the same repetitive tasks that drain you but don’t move you forward.

AI is quietly taking a lot of that noise away for me.

Instead of spending 45 minutes writing a long post or researching the best budgeting app, I can now get a solid draft in 5–10 minutes and then just edit it in my own voice. Instead of staring at a blank screen trying to plan my next side hustle idea, I throw in my rough thoughts and AI helps me organize them properly. It even helps me review my Google Sheet budget faster and spot leaks I would have missed.

The result?

I have more mental space.

More time to actually think about the things that matter, like how to spend more time learning something new, how to spend quality time with family, or even just sit outside in the evening and breathe without feeling like I’m behind on something.

It reminded me that we were not built to spend our whole lives writing emails about emails or filling spreadsheets that nobody will read next month. We are supposed to create, connect, solve real problems, and enjoy life small-small.

I’ve always believed in the thrifty lifestyle, cutting waste, saving money, stretching every naira. But now I see AI as the ultimate thrifty tool for your time and energy. You’re not wasting hours on boring admin work anymore. You offload the repetitive stuff and you get to focus on the real hustle, the one that actually moves your life forward.

I have ADHD tendencies too (not officially diagnosed but I see it clearly). My brain likes to run on ten different tracks at once. In the past, that made me feel scattered and unproductive. Now AI acts like a patient collaborator that can keep up with my jumping thoughts and help me finish what I started.

The more I offload the low-value noise to AI, the more room I have for the things that make me feel alive:

Testing new side hustles

Writing posts that I actually enjoy

Thinking about bigger plans instead of drowning in small daily tasks

Final thoughts

I’m not saying AI is perfect or that it will replace everything. There are still things only a real human can do, building trust with customers, negotiating in the market, sitting with friends, or making real decisions with emotion and experience.

But right now, AI is giving me back time and mental energy I didn’t even know I was losing.

And that extra space is making me feel more human than I have in a long time.

What about you?

Have you been using AI a lot this year?

Do you feel like it’s helping you or just adding more noise?

Are you using it for your side hustles, budgeting, content, or something else?

Drop your honest experience in the comments below. I read every single one and I’m always interested in how other hustlers in Nigeria are using these tools.

If this post made sense to you, share it with that friend who is always complaining that there’s never enough time.

Let’s keep finding smart ways to work less on the boring stuff and more on the things that actually matter.

Remember to Stay thrifty, stay human, and keep hustling smart!
