My Honest Take
These alternative sites feel more straightforward than LinkedIn (which is now full of noise) or Upwork (which has become very competitive with low bids). The pay ranges mentioned ($68–$80/hour or even higher) are attractive when converted to naira, especially for roles like virtual assistance, content writing, marketing, or customer support.
However, success still depends on:
Having a strong, ATS-friendly resume
Applying consistently (5–10 applications per day)
Preparing well for interviews
Having reliable internet and power (very important here in PH)
Don’t expect instant results. It can take weeks or even months of consistent effort, but many people are reporting better response rates on these platforms compared to the old giants.
